The Best Candle Ever Made !
This McCalls Country Store candle is the best candle ever ! They are kind of hard to find in stores. I only knew of one place in our area in Illinois to buy them. I looked up places around here and found 2 places that sell McCalls products. One of them was Cabelas ~ a large outdoor hunting/fishing type store like Bass Pro. I called them and they said yes they carry the candles. Hurray ! Hurray ! Hurray ! I got the directions and we headed over there. It only took about 15 minutes to get there and it was a really neat place. The kids and I had fun walking around looking. Gabriel found a hat that he bought with some of his b-day money. Then I found all the candles ~ and they had the one I was looking for ~ Country Store ! I've had it at least 3 or 4 times and no other candle compares. If you love yummy, country spicy smells then you have to get one. It's the best ! Here is the website

Grandma's Visit
We had a fun week with Grandma visiting. Last Wednesday was Gabriel's 14th birthday. We went to see The Dark Knight. It was such a good movie ~ the Joker was the best part ! We are going to see it again this week. Then we went to eat at Famous Dave's. Gabriel chose apple pie as his birthday dessert. He got money and a new airsoft gun for his birthday. During the week went to see Hancock, went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, shopped around town, went to Paige's cheerleading, went to the zoo, botanical gardens, and Red Robin. Grandma bought some pretty new plants for our garden and some wind chimes to hang in our backyard. Paige and Grandma had a workout routine that they did every day. We also watched the Tour De France. It was a very nice week. Only 4 more weeks until our trip to Illinois.

My New Painting Project
I've decided to paint my dining room table, chairs, and hutch. Today I only had time to do 2 chairs. I will do the table and other chairs over the next couple of weeks. The hutch will have to wait until Fall because it will take a little longer. It's to hot out right now . :-) I'd love to find some fabric to recover the seats of the chairs. Maybe a colonial pattern with some red in it or something like that. I like how the chairs turned out. I was a little nervous to do it, but I'm glad I did !

Saturday's Flea Market Find
I found this table at an indoor flea market in Omaha. It was very beat up and someone had carved AC/DC on top in small letters. :-)I sanded it and painted it and then sanded some edges and it's great ! Weathered and Worn has one just like it for $60 The flea market was kind of cruddy overall. I probably won't go back any time soon. :-)

What I Did With it All
Friday's Garage Sale Finds
I haven't really ever gone looking for garage sales, but decided to look for listings online last night. I figured I might find some super cheap treasures if I would take time to go look. Paige and I went to one this morning and I did find some great things and I'm excited ! I paid $7 total for everything and the stuff seems so new. Tomorrow we are going out again to see what we can find. Here are pictures of what I got.

Outside Table
I moved this old table from my living room out to my backyard. I like it out there. I think I'd like one more pot of flowers to put on it. My sunflowers are looking good . I thought they were all broken and smashed after a couple of guys taking down the fence next door trampled them . I guess they thought they were weeds or something. They are getting tall now and looking much better.
