Bah Humbug !
Ya know what I really don't like this time of year ? When I hear people complaining "It's too early to decorate for Christmas" or "It's not even Thanksgiving yet, why is there Christmas stuff out already?" "We shouldn't forget about Thanksgiving and just go straight to Christmas " Why do people have to be so grouchy and whiney ? I think some people just feed off of other people and want something to complain about. I mean who made the rules about when we should decorate or not and why does decorating for Christmas early have to mean that you are ignoring Thanksgiving? Lighten up people and enjoy this wonderful season ! My sister said it perfectly the other day~ we like to decorate early and have it all done by Thanksgiving, so that on Thanksgiving day we can relax and be all set for the start of the Christmas season. Thanksgiving is like the opening day of the Holiday season. I mean even Santa is in the Thanksgiving parade right !? If you like to wait until after Thanksgiving then that's just fine, but if you want to do it early and enjoy it longer, then go ahead and do it ! Hurray for Christmas!

Love your outlook on this. I think I'll decorate early too.
I hear this every time I work at the Dollar Tree, in fact I heard it today..."Where are your Thanksgiving decorations?" Answer..."Right over there." "Is that all you have? "People are just skipping over Thanksgiving anymore and going right on to Christmas." I think, should I say that I'm going to have my tree up on Thanksgiving day.LOL Oh well, some people just love to complain I think:)

Yes...I have started too...and Thanksgiving is so much more stress free knowing that all of it will be done.
I so love Thanksgiving...and Christmas too. Dianntha
Janae,
I am trying to get all of my decorations up before Thanksgiving all but the tree. This has always been a tradition to put the tree up in our family the day after!I see nothing wrong with it.Yes, i do want to remember that Thanksgiving is a day of thanks and I don't want to forget that but....I feel we should be thanking the Lord EVERY DAY anyways!ThANKS so much for your thought on this and have a blessed day!

Very well said!! I agree!!

Love Christmas time! I always decorate in November, and before Thanksgiving. Today, I put all my trees in place. Now I see what I need, this weekend will be the Open house in some Country stores here, which means.... CHRISTMAS SHOPPING.
Here Here!
I definately agree!
As a matter of fact I have been playing a little Christmas music...People are outraged! Even my kids!! These definitely are NOT my children!
I love it because it gets me in such a festive mood.
Enjoy the season!
I LOVE CHRISTMAS..AND TOTALLY AGREE!
I agree with you! It goes fast enough as it is...I want to enjoy the holiday spirit as long as possible :)
Janae,
Couldn't agree more! I'm planning on having mine up within the next few weeks. BTW I showed my hubby your home, he couldnt believe it was a military house, he is a Disabled Air Force Vet, so he's seen alot of them. :)
Well said!!! Dawn
Hi!
I enjoyed seeing and reading about your gorgeous home, all decorated for Christmas, in Country Sampler. :-)
I would decorate early, but I don't feel like it this year since I had "Christmas in June". ( We live in Australia, and to have Christmas in Winter, it has to be in June or July). Actually, I am only putting up some of my decor, the things that don't look Wintry, since I already had my traditional celebration this year.
Have a very Merry Christmas! And a Happy Thanksgiving. :-)
Well said Janae:)
I'm with ya, sista! All my decorating is up and ready at Thanksgiving for just the reason you stated.... I love to have the house all decorated when people come over for dinner on T-Day and the day after..... ahhhhh relaxation!
I don't mind one bit decorating early. I love to decorate for Christmas!
The only thing I don't like is how some stores start playing Christmas music before Halloween!
We had Thanksgiving at our house a couple of years ago and I had all my decorations up for everyone to enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
I agree - we each get to decide for ourselves!! Just don't forget to show us lots of pictures of your decor so I can enjoy it!!
Ahhhhh! I'm a seasson ahead of you.I listen to christmas music while putting out my halloween!
Exactly!! I love love Christmas, I like to decorate early and do shopping early too so I have more time for makin cookies and being with my family. Plus it is a lot of work decorating and I want to enjoy it for a while! Loved your home in Country Sampler and I love bare minerals too!!
Thanks for reassuring me that its ok to decorate prior to Thanksgiving! Your words helped me to bite the bullet and decorate early this year!
I love your thoughts on this....my husband and I were actually talking today about starting the decorating early so that it is less stressful...I'm going to read him your thoughts.
I'm so glad you said this. I heard this on facebook the other day and it took everything I had not to say something to the person. The holidays are so wonderful. Why wait?! :)
WELL SAID JANAE!!!!!!!
I COULDN'T AGREE MORE. IT'S UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL AND IF THE BAH HUMBUGS DON'T LIKE IT THEN LOOK THE OTHER WAY...
I detest activists for the negative! Like you said...LIGHTEN UP!
Hugs, Karen
Janae,
Woo hoo that's the spirit!
LOL! Well said! I do not decorate for Xmas before Thanksgiving; no one in my family does. We do however spend Black Friday decking the halls, instead of shopping. It's a great way to save money by rediscovering all the wonderful things you bought last year at "The Day After Xmas Sale". LOL!
And no, we do not whine about early decorations...it makes the wait more exciting! =)
I totally agree. Christmas goes by so fast so why not start early and enjoy the whole Thanksgiving Christmas season and celebrate the Reason for the Season all year.
Love your blog!
~willa~
I totally agree! We usually decorate early so we can relax on Thanksgiving too! It's a lot of work to put up those Christmas decorations so I want some time to enjoy them. If we put them up on Thanksgiving we can enjoy them for close to 6 weeks. I do think some people just like to complain too!
I would give you a big old kiss and hug if I could!
My blog is already decorated for Christmas for several reasons..
One is that the person who does my sweet backgrounds is up to her neck in preparations for the Holidays right now as she has a business etc. and her time is precious to her the closer to December we get. I put my order in very early but she also installs everything and I LOVE to look at it..so it is in!
I don't really think that people just WANT to complain...they probably have a point but they must remember that "to each her own." Christmas season goes all too quickly for me and so this year..because I pretty much missed the Halloween/Fall season due to illness...AND I am beginning to feel stronger.....I will be decorating early.
Your attitude about it warms my heart!! Thanksgiving is not at my home so I don't have to worry about Fall decor. I adore and cherish Fall for reasons the song on my blog depicts.
May I wish you HAPPY HOLIDAYS? :)
Another hug to you..
Mona
I agree! Right after Halloween, I really get into the holiday spirit. I usually start getting my things our of storage the weekend before Thanksgiving. It is a MUST to have it ALL finished by Dec. 1st. My husband doesn't see the need, however!! I just feel that I take so much time with every little detail, that I want to enjoy it for as long as I possibly can! I have already listened to Christmas music on one of my TV channels. I also can not wait to go see Disney's A Christmas Carol....I love holiday movies!!
you have a great attitude !! Happy holidays to you and yours and things will get better.
