Painted Boxes, a Sheep, and George

I got lot's done yesterday around here. It was nice and warm outside. Paige was busy outside with her friends and Gabriel was busy on his computer, so I just did little projects around the house. I cleaned ,stitched, painted, and sewed. I loved the boxes that I bought from Kindra so much and I saw another set that she had painted that I loved too. The larger set sold before I got to her booth. So I decided to try painting my own set. Thanks for the inspiration Kindra! I'm not great at freehand painting, so I wasn't sure how they would turn out.I think they turned out pretty good for my first try.
I also wanted something simple to sit in my highchair all year round. I searched online for prairie dolls, primitive bears, and things like that, but couldn't find anything I wanted. I decided to sew up this little sheep. He's just right for the chair I think and I didn't spend a penny. I love making things for myself instead of having to spend money on new things all the time.

George finally came in last week! Hurray! I went and picked him up and came home and hung him up right away. I was really disappointed after I got him hung up and I won't tell you why. Just see if you can tell in the picture what's bugging me. I'll tell you what it is in my next post.

Paige and I went out yesterday morning and bought the Twilight DVD. We watched it last night. I love that movie! Did anyone else buy the DVD yesterday ?

We have a chance for thunderstorms this afternoon. I wouldn't mind if we had a thunderstorm. I'm in the mood for one~ it makes it feel like Spring! Just no tornado's please! I'm off to check weather.com Have a great evening!

You did GREAT on your set of boxes! And the sheep is adorable!
About George, could it be that the background is a different color? And the frame looks different too.
About the Twilight movie, I just saw it and loved it too! In fact, I watched it twice! Someone gave my daughter a bootleg copy and she loaned it to me. I think I will go ahead and buy the movie for our collection.
Have a nice evening!

Janae I love that sheep! Very cute! If you ever wanted to make up a pattern and sell it, I would definitally purchase one! =] You did a great job on the boxes! I can not free hand paint very well either. As for George's picture, hum, I would guess there is a difference in the frame size?

My daughters were disappointed in the movie after they read the books...I haven't seen the movie or read the books...just not into vampires. LOL
Looks like there is a little gold trim on one of the frames??? They look terrific. Dianntha
Now that sheep is just adorable.

Your boxes turned out great! And you say that you don't free hand well...You don't give yourself enough credit.
And you stitched your own sheep? You are way to talented...I am so jealous of your sewing skills! LOL
I am off to rent Twilight tonight, I hope it is as good as my daughters say it is!
Have a great weekend!

Love your boxes! We got Twilight today, my daughter is a huge fan!
As for George he looks a bit smaller than Ab, maybe try hanging one alittle higher than the other so its not so noticable?

I love the boxes!! You really did a wonderful job free-handing. I love the little sheep too...so cute! And great for year-round! I think I see the problem with the pictures too...different frames so Lincoln is a bit bigger? I still they look nice. Maybe you could split them up? Just a suggestion! And I really need to see and/or read the Twilight stuff...I just haven't had the time. Oh and I saw a store at the beach that sold Bare Essentials and I thought of you:) Hope you've had a great weekend!!

Love the boxes! The sheep is really sweet.
You do not like the frames for George and Abe? That would be my guess. But, sometimes things do not have to match.

the abe frame is bigger.......
i agree with lisa. hang one higher than the other. actually i think it would look cool if you added a shelf under one of them with a prim eagle makedo on it.i seen a freebie patetrn( i think) to make an eagle too.ori got it in my stash..
the boxes turned out great!! so did the sheep!! he really looks cool on the chair!

Your boxes are wonderful and that sheep is too cute!

I haven't seen Twilight yet. I usually read books before I see the movies, but I've heard the books are addicting and I don't have time to be addicted right now!

I love your boxes! I need to get myself a set to do. I was so proud of myself yesterday. I got upstairs at the new house and got the craft room cleared. Now I can move in my stuff and create!

I loved Twilight and got my copy too. Was disappointed I didn't get the special edition one for $.97 more. They were all gone. Read all the books in a week! Oh Edward.... *sigh*

Take Care,
Debbie

I love your boxes, I think you did a great job! I read all the Twilight books and LOVED them. The movie I didn't like very much. I still have a thing for Edward though! lol I'm going with the frame difference too or that the background isn't as nice as Abe's.

George is smaller, different frame and background! I agree with hanging George or Abe higher.

I love the boxes and the little sheep. I think you did a great job on both.

I'm thinking it's the frame that bugs you not the actual picture.

My daughter Jessica bought Twilight. She couldn't wait until Saturday so she waited at Walmart so she could buy it at midnight.

Janae,

Your freehanding on the pantry boxes is great! And your sheep is adorable! You're so talented and it is nice to be able to make those things and have money to spend on other things (like George)! :) Speaking of George, I think he looks great there...the only thing I noticed at all was a difference in the frames that maybe it is not exactly the same size, but it's not that noticeable. However, I know how I am when something (even small) bugs me! Now I'm curious about what it is!

I'm emailing you.

Have a great day!

My guess as to what's bugging you ~ I'm guessing it's the different frames. Hung the way you have then suggests to me that you wanted them to match.

I like the different backgrounds.
Your fabric covered boxed turned out wonderful!

And as far as Twilight...I have a 14 year old daughter..we saw it in the theater and I think she has watched it 10 times since we bought it! She is a big fan! I really did enjoy the movie..but I haven't watched it at home yet. Tomorrow night is movie night here..I think that is what is showing! :) Take care. ~Sarah~

Wow! Great job on your boxes!
I wished I could do that!!
Did you use something to look at....as a guide to help you?
I'd have to have something to follow by....I'm one of those "visual" learners! LOL!!
I have those box sets sitting around in this office just waiting for me to do something with them!
I was going to cover some with fabric and grunge up...then paint a few of the others....
Can I borrow what you did and try a set for myself?

Thanks for sharing your
great pics with us!
Have a good day!
