A Lucky Goodwill Day

I decided to stop by Goodwill today on my way to the Post Office. There was a tray I had seen there a few weeks ago that I was hoping was still there, but it was gone. I did find a few other things that I am very excited about ! I only spent $10 and look what I got ! All of these are perfect for my kitchen. I am not a blue girl at all, so I painted the cupboard Olde Ivory, dry brushed black over that and then briwax over that. I painted the hardware black and I knocked the little divider on the top cubby out to open that space up. I sewed up a little pillow and a seed bag for the cupboard and put my little wooly sheep in the top cubby. The rolling pin went right into my crock with the other rolling pins and mashers . I also painted the bowl Olde Ivory with briwax. I hung the bowl over the gameboard that Kindra made. I usually don't find much at Goodwill, but I'm so glad I stopped to look today. You just never know when you'll find a treasure ! Have a great weekend !

Janae~You are definately finding some fantastic items...and you are quick to redo them!
Aren't you just loving that briwax? It makes everything so prim and fantastic!
I would love to find a cupboard like that...yes, I'm jealous!
I like how you did your bowl, it looks really good where you hung it!
Why are these people getting rid of so many great items?

What awesome finds. The goodwill that I go to rarely has anything that neat. It has been closed since before Christmas due to roof damage. I sure hope it opens soon. What is briwax and where do you get it? Have a great weekend!!~~Melissa

That is a wonderful redo on the little cupboard. Everyone finds such great things at their TS. The Goodwill in my town is a dud and it's been closed since the end of December due to a leaky roof. ~Ann

Love your great finds at Goodwill. I have also found some great stuff but need to redo them and I love what you did. You HAVE to tell us the paint and what dry brushing is and about the wax. I am new to all this and need some help. I have been doing everything black and finally my husband said he didn't want our house to look like a funeral home. Yeah, too much black can be depressing. Love that color a lot. Please share. Great display on the cupboard.
